Yellowstone National Park
It is no secret that I love to travel! We usually opt for an exotic, far away island location, however, with the current world climate, we decided a quick getaway to a closer destination would better suit us this summer. I can truly say I was not disappointed by Yellowstone. It was my first visit to the national park and even before entering we had a close encounter at a lake with a moose! My reaction was a little bit intense as it definitely took me by surprise and there might be a story floating around about my alleged “hiding” from him in a bathroom! Immediately upon entering Yellowstone I was wowed by the first wild grizzly bear I have ever seen! Such an amazing majestic animal!
The next few days we were blessed with views of elk, bison (more than we could count), the most beautiful landscapes I have ever seen and and array of colors unlike anything in the world. There are so many different views in Yellowstone it is hard for the photographer in me not to love every single minute! My only regret is that we should have stayed a few more days. Yellowstone is definitely a place I will never forget!
Our trip would not have been as amazing as it was without the perfect accommodations we were blessed with at Blackwater Creek Ranch. I am so thankful they had a cabin for us. The cabins were warm and cozy and with temperatures down to 40 at night, we appreciated that. The food they served could not have been any better if we made it at home. It was so nice to have such a feast after a long day in the park. They also offer horseback rides! Our ride took us to maybe the most incredible view from June Ridge. We could almost see forever! The mountains from that vantage point are just an incredible sight! I would have loved to get some photographs on my camera instead of my phone, but I am not as steady on horseback as I used to be and was a little worried about climbing a mountain with a camera in tow.
It was really one of my all time favorite places to see and photograph. If you ever have the chance to visit Yellowstone National Park, take it! I promise you will not be disappointed! I cannot wait until we visit there again -although next time I may fly!
